Pressure Washers
Pressure washers use a pump to boost water pressure and discharge it through a hose, gun and nozzle, stripping dirt and built-up grease from equipment, vehicles, outdoor floors and walls. They differ from scrubber dryers and vacuums by cleaning with water impact rather than scrubbing or suction. Selection is based on documented pressure and flow rate, cold or hot water, power source (electric or combustion engine) and pump type (axial or triplex).

About this category
Pressure washers are cleaning machines with a pump that raises incoming water pressure from the supply to a high operating pressure, discharged through a hose, spray gun and nozzle per the machine's design. Models differ in documented operating pressure and documented flow rate values, each defined in the manufacturer's documentation; uniform values should not be assumed across the category. Models differ in power source between electric and combustion-engine, and in pump architecture between axial and triplex pumps. Models differ between cold-water units and hot-water pressure washers that include a heating coil. It must not be assumed that higher operating pressure automatically means better cleaning; cleaning quality depends on a combination of pressure, flow rate, nozzle angle and surface type. Pressure washers do not themselves perform disinfection or sterilization unless used with chemicals specifically labeled for that purpose, and they are not suitable for every surface type. Scrubber dryers and vacuums are excluded from this category. Industrial buyers select pressure washer models based on required operating pressure, flow rate, power source, water type and surface type.
