Overview

Gas Detection & Environmental Safety plays a critical preventive role in any environment where workers interact with liquid or gaseous chemicals. The system provides early warning of air-quality deviations and immediate control over any spill to prevent soil and water contamination and harmful worker exposure.

What It Includes

The first area is Gas Detection & Air Monitoring, covering portable single- and multi-gas detectors, fixed detection systems with sensors and controllers, air-quality monitors (VOC, particulates, CO/CO2, IAQ), and calibration and maintenance equipment. The second area is Spill Control & Hazmat, covering absorbents (oil-only, chemical, universal), spill-response kits, spill berms, secondary containment pallets and trays, and safe storage cabinets for hazardous materials.

Applications

Used across oil and gas platforms and drilling sites, refineries and petrochemical plants, chemical storage warehouses, desalination and water-treatment stations, laboratories and pharmaceutical facilities, grain silos (fumigant-gas and oxygen-deficiency hazards), wastewater operations, and fuel and gas filling stations.

How to Select

Gas detectors are chosen by the gas species expected on site (CH₄, H₂S, CO, O₂, etc.), the alarm thresholds required (TWA, STEL, LEL%), and the application type: portable units for rounds, fixed arrays for continuous monitoring, and personal monitors for exposure. Spill-control products are chosen by liquid type (oil, chemical, water-based), the volume of a credible release, and safe-disposal requirements.

Standards Note

Solutions align with frameworks such as ATEX and IECEx for hazardous-area equipment, OSHA permissible-exposure limits, and SASO/SABER requirements for the Saudi market. Specifications and certifications vary by product and model; always consult the manufacturer's datasheets before selection.
