Sweepers
Sweepers collect dry debris and dust with rotating main and side brushes, throwing it into an onboard hopper, and are used in warehouses, plant yards and car parks. They differ from scrubber dryers in not washing with water and from industrial vacuums, which rely on suction. Selection is based on drive type (manual push, battery/electric or combustion engine), walk-behind or ride-on format, sweeping width, hopper capacity and indoor or outdoor use.

About this category
Sweepers are cleaning machines that use rotating brushes to collect dry debris and dust from the surface and move it into an internal debris hopper per the machine's design. Models differ in operation between manual push-sweepers that require no power source, electric sweepers running on battery or mains power, and combustion-engine sweepers in large industrial formats. Models differ between walk-behind and ride-on units depending on site size. Models vary in effective sweeping width, brush design between rotating main brushes and side brushes, in hopper capacity, and in dust-control system between no-system models and models with dust filters or integrated suction. Sweeping is fundamentally different from scrubbing: a sweeper collects dry solid debris only and does not clean the floor with water and detergent, and it also differs from an industrial vacuum that relies on suction. A sweeper cannot be assumed to perform disinfection, remove adherent stains or clean liquids. Scrubber dryers, vacuums and pressure washers are excluded from this category. Industrial buyers select sweeper models based on operation type, sweeping width, hopper capacity and the use environment (indoor or outdoor).
