Double Wall Cartons

Double-wall cartons use five-ply corrugated board with two fluted layers (such as BC flute), giving more compression and stacking strength than single-wall boxes for industrial packing and long-haul shipping. Very heavy or bulky loads move up to triple-wall cartons. Specify by dimensions, combined flute profile, box style (regular slotted, full overlap or die-cut) and documented board strength against the shipping conditions.

About this category

Double wall cartons are packaging products manufactured from corrugated paperboard in a five-ply configuration: outer liner, first fluted medium, middle liner, second fluted medium, inner liner, forming two layers of corrugated wall used in industrial packaging and long-haul shipping applications; actual compression, stacking, puncture and handling performance depends on the complete board and box specification and documented test data. Models differ in internal and external dimensions, and in the fluting configuration of the two layers (such as BC), where the flute heights differ between the two layers to provide balanced resistance. Models differ in folding architecture between regular slotted containers, full-overlap boxes and custom die-cut boxes according to design. Models differ in documented board strength defined in the product's specifications, including different test metrics defined within approved test limits. Suitability of double-wall cartons for every heavy shipping application or every product weight should not be assumed; specific applications may require triple-wall cartons or custom industrial packaging. Universal moisture, radiation, temperature or storage-condition resistance is not assumed as an absolute property. Single-wall cartons, heavy triple-wall cartons and specialty boxes are excluded from this category. Buyers select double-wall carton models based on dimensions, combined flute type, folding architecture, documented board strength and shipping requirements.
