Duct Tape
Duct tape is a pressure-sensitive tape with a cloth- or synthetic-fibre-reinforced backing, used for bundling, holding, temporary repairs and protection in workshops and on site. Its reinforced, hand-tearable construction sets it apart from packing and masking tape, but general duct tape is not a substitute for code-approved HVAC duct tapes. Select by backing and reinforcement, adhesive system, documented thickness, width and surface compatibility.

About this category
Duct tape is a pressure-sensitive-tape family used for compatible holding, bundling, temporary repair, protection and related applications depending on product construction and documented suitability. Models differ in backing structure between cloth-reinforced and synthetic-fiber-reinforced constructions, in documented tape thickness, in adhesive system, and in width and length. Models differ in hand-tear characteristics and in surface compatibility documented on the product label. Universal characteristics for every HVAC and air-duct application should not be assumed; HVAC work is subject to specific regulatory requirements and approved products, and general duct tape is not treated as a substitute for code-approved HVAC tapes. Absolute waterproof characteristics, durability or air-tightness are not assumed as absolute properties; these are product-specific within defined test limits. Universal heat or UV resistance is not assumed. Code-approved HVAC tapes, masking tape and packing tape are excluded from this category. Buyers select duct-tape models based on backing structure and reinforcement, adhesive system, width, documented thickness and application compatibility.
