Boltless Shelving
Boltless shelving units assemble uprights and shelves through interlocking mechanical joints such as rivets instead of bolts, so they go up quickly and shelf levels are easy to reposition in warehouses and stores. They differ from general steel shelving in assembly method and from pallet racking built for palletized loads. Selection is based on dimensions, number of levels, documented per-shelf and per-unit load rating, and protective finish.

About this category
Boltless shelving systems are storage systems assembled through mechanical retention connections (such as interlocking rivets, pin joints or self-locking features) instead of bolts at the main structural joints, per the product's design. Models differ in upright and shelf material, in overall dimensions, in the number of adjustable levels and in the documented load rating per shelf and per unit; a single capacity should not be assumed across the category. Each product's weight and load tolerance vary by design and by the material and protective finish specification. 'Boltless' should not be interpreted as literally dispensing with every assembly tool at every step: some designs may still require a rubber mallet or secondary fasteners per the product's documentation. Per-shelf capacity differs from total unit capacity, and one cannot be inferred from the other. Heavy-duty pallet racking, cantilever racking, mezzanine shelving and cabinets are excluded from this category. Industrial buyers select boltless shelving models based on required dimensions, number of levels, documented load rating, assembly characteristics and environmentally appropriate protective finish.
