Addressable Heat Detectors

Addressable Heat Detectors combine the reliability of thermal detection with the precision of addressing. They transmit actual temperature to the panel continuously, not just an on/off state, allowing graded alarms and trend monitoring. Ideal for sites with normal smoke where precise location is needed.

About this category

Addressable heat detectors advance thermal detection from a binary signal to continuous digital data. The design: a ceiling device holding a sensitive thermistor (faster response than the older bimetal), an electronic processor with a unique address, and a digital communication circuit. Operating modes: fixed temperature (panel-programmable 54-93°C), rate-of-rise, combination, and analog reporting (actual temperature streamed to the panel every second). Unique advantage: the panel sees the real temperature curve, generates a pre-alarm at a programmable fraction of the threshold, and flags gradual temperature rise earlier than fixed-threshold conventional detectors. Detectors are classified under EN 54-5 from A1 to G by application temperature and response range; take the values from the standard and the model documents. Electrical principle: on the same SLC. Applications: large hotel kitchens (ahead of hood suppression), parking in large buildings, industry with steam or smoke, maintenance workshops, printing, welding areas, and dusty warehouses. A difference from conventional heat: addressable is more precise and provides analytics; conventional is a simple binary signal. A difference from addressable smoke: heat does not activate on ordinary smoke; smoke is faster on smoldering fires. A technical note: temperature class is chosen based on normal ambient at the site plus 10-15°. Maintenance: annual heat-gun test, automated panel reporting of lagging detectors.
