Safety Glasses

Safety Glasses provide light eye protection against flying particles and sparks in everyday use. They differ fundamentally from goggles by being open around the eye to allow airflow, so they do not protect against chemical splash or vapors. Available with polycarbonate frames and clear or tinted lenses, in basic or high-impact rating.

About this category

Safety glasses are the most common eye-protection solution on industrial sites because of their light weight, easy wear, and compatibility with most other PPE. Lenses are made of polycarbonate, which withstands impact far better than traditional glass, with a scratch-resistant coating essential for industrial use. Impact rating differs by level: basic (Z87) and impact-rated (Z87+), which under ANSI/ISEA Z87.1 passes high-mass and high-velocity tests set by protector type; refer to the standard and manufacturer data for test values. Lenses come clear for general work in adequate lighting, tinted (grey, brown) to cut glare in sunny weather, high-contrast yellow for low-light work, and mirrored for extra glare protection. Some models carry an anti-fog coating essential in humid areas or during temperature transitions. Safety glasses do not protect against chemical splash, vapors, or fine dust; those hazards are the role of sealed goggles. Specifications follow ANSI Z87.1 and EN 166 by brand and model.
