Equipotential Mats
Equipotential Mats are conductive floor surfaces bonded to the equipment to create a single-potential work zone at substations, during line maintenance and temporary earthing, reducing the voltage difference between a worker's feet and the equipment. They work in the opposite way to insulating mats, which separate the worker from ground; choose by documented electrical characteristics, dimensions and connection points, and fixed or portable installation.

About this category
This class serves to provide an equipotential ground surface at electrical worksites. Technical distinction: the primary function is to establish an equipotential zone through conductive bonding, which differs from insulating mats whose function is electrical separation; the two classes are not presented as synonyms. Design details vary by model: mat material with a conductive formulation, bonding-conductor connection points, dimensions, layer thickness, surface design, electrical characteristics documented in the product datasheet, and installation arrangement (fixed or portable depending on design). Technical note: the equipotential mat is a component within the on-site overall grounding/bonding arrangement and works with bonding conductors, personal protective equipment, and safe-work practices; it does not replace the system design or the hazard assessment. Uses: substations, electrical line-maintenance work, industrial facilities with electrical exposure, and temporary-earthing work. Procurement considerations: models may be compared on documented electrical characteristics, dimensions, connection points, construction material, and installation arrangement. Model specifications and documentation are reviewed before selection.
