Confined Space Ventilation
Confined Space Ventilation ensures fresh airflow inside the space to clear toxic and flammable gases and provide sufficient oxygen before entry and during work. The category includes portable axial fans, ducted blowers, flexible ventilation ducts, positive and negative pressure ventilation systems, and Ex-rated ventilation for hazardous zones.

About this category
Entry to a confined space is not permitted without confirming internal air quality, and the initial reading does not guarantee safe air throughout the shift. Continuous ventilation is a core control for most entries, as defined by the permit and risk assessment. Portable axial fans provide model-dependent airflow and serve small to medium spaces through the entry opening. Ducted blowers push air from an external source through a flexible duct into the depth of the space and run on electric or pneumatic power. Flexible ducts come in 20-50 cm diameters and 4.5-15 m lengths, with hoop rings to prevent collapse under flow. Positive-pressure systems push fresh air in and displace contaminated air out — the most common setup. Negative-pressure systems draw contaminated air through a filter and serve work with hazardous materials that cannot be vented to ambient. Ex-rated fans are certified for ATEX or IECEx classified zones where flammable gases may be present. Ventilation must be kept active for the full duration of entry, with airflow verified periodically.
