Edge Protectors

Edge protectors fit over product corners and the edges of palletised loads to spread strapping pressure and reduce crushed or scuffed edges during handling and shipping. They give localised corner protection rather than the all-round cushioning of bubble wrap or foam. Choose by material (compressed corrugated board, polypropylene or foam), profile (L, V, U or rounded for cylindrical items), length and documented thickness.

About this category

Edge protectors are protective packaging products designed to provide an additional layer of protection for the edges and corners of products and the tops of loads stacked on shipping pallets, contributing to improved pressure distribution and reduced edge damage from strapping and abrasion. Models differ in material between rigid compressed corrugated cardboard for medium-weight products, plastic (polypropylene) for products with specific needs, and foam for sensitive products. Models differ in cross-section shape between L (90° angle), V, U and rounded cross-sections for cylindrical products. Models differ in length between standard and pre-cuttable lengths, and in documented thickness. Universal protection against impact or collisions should not be assumed across the category; edge protectors provide localized protection for corners and edges and are not a comprehensive cushioning for the product. Absolute break-resistance or high-pressure resistance characteristics are not assumed as absolute properties; these are defined in the product's specifications within approved test limits. Bubble wrap and foam packaging are excluded from this category. Buyers select edge protector models based on material, cross-section shape, length, documented thickness and the target product.
