Spill Berms
Spill Berms are flexible deployable enclosures used to form a temporary containment basin around equipment, a vehicle, or a spill zone to stop liquid spread. They differ from pallets by their foldability and portability to the site when needed, and from socks by their larger containment capacity. Used for handling larger spills and for isolating vehicle parking during transfer.

About this category
Spill berms address a specific challenge: forming a temporary containment basin where no fixed platform exists. The design: flexible walls of reinforced rubber or heavy PVC resistant to chemicals, with internal framing that keeps the walls upright, and a continuous sealed floor that stops under-leakage. Types by wall mechanism: pop-up berms (self-erecting on deployment), foam-walled (foldable foam walls), air-walled (walls inflated to stand), and driveover (designed for tires to cross without damaging the berm). Uses: containing a truck during offload, forming a field maintenance zone for equipment with oil leaks, closing off a large spill area before cleanup, parking vehicles suspected of fuel leakage, and emergency-response training. A substantive difference from pallets: berms are a flexible portable solution but need on-site setup each time. Containment capacity, chemical resistance, and material grade are chosen from product specifications to match the emergency scenario and the surrounding site, and berms are stored folded in an easily accessible location, with response teams trained in rapid deployment.
