Aprons & Protective Sleeves
Aprons & Protective Sleeves provide protection for defined body zones without the need for a full protective coverall. Aprons shield the front of the body (chest, abdomen, legs) from sparks and liquids; sleeves shield the arms. Materials: leather (welding and sparks), neoprene (chemicals), PVC (water), and Kevlar (cuts and heat).

About this category
Aprons and protective sleeves are specialized solutions for situations where a worker does not need a full coverall but does need protection for defined body zones. Apron types: welding aprons in tanned leather at 1-1.5 mm thickness protect against sparks and small molten metal, with lengths from 60 cm (half length) to 110 cm (full leg). Chemical aprons in neoprene or PVC shield the chest from splash in labs and pharmaceutical plants. Food aprons in light polyethylene or silicone serve industrial kitchens. Disposable aprons serve short-use emergency response. Protective sleeves differ substantially: Kevlar sleeves for cuts (glass and metal industries), leather sleeves for heat and welding, PVC sleeves for chemicals, and FR-treated cotton sleeves for welding. Lengths from 35 cm (half arm) to 55 cm (full arm). Design usually has a thumb loop for retention. An important technical note: aprons and sleeves are worn with primary work clothing, not instead of it. Applications: welding and casting (leather aprons), food processing (plastic aprons), chemical labs (neoprene aprons), glass industry (Kevlar sleeves), pharmaceutical plants (Tyvek aprons). Specifications follow the protection type: EN ISO 11611 (welding aprons and sleeves), EN 14605 (PB partial-body chemical protection), and EN 388 and EN 407 for cut- and heat-resistant sleeves.
