Beam Anchors

Beam Anchors are mechanical clamps that attach to structural steel beams without welding or drilling. They differ fundamentally from concrete anchors by being portable and movable along the beam. They suit work on steel structures such as refineries, oil platforms, and warehouses with high overhead beams.

About this category

Beam clamps are a practical way to create an anchor without modifying the steel structure. The design: a steel body with two adjustable jaws sized to the beam width, with a central tightening screw that clamps the jaws onto both sides of the beam flange. Variants: fixed beam clamps that mount in one position, and sliding beam clamps that travel along the beam for free movement. Sizes fit beams from 75 mm to 400 mm. Materials: zinc-plated steel for indoor use, stainless steel for corrosive environments. Required strength follows the applicable standard or the engineered system design. An important technical note: beam clamps are designed for standard I-beams or H-beams; they are not used on curved beams, pipes, or non-standard elements. The beam itself must be verified for fall-arrest load capacity. A substantive difference from concrete anchors: beam anchors need no drilling and move quickly, while concrete anchors are fixed and permanent. Applications: oil refineries with recurring steel structures, warehouse maintenance with overhead beams, inspection and maintenance of steel towers, and assembly-station installation work. Specifications follow ANSI Z359.18 and EN 795 Type B.
