Confined Space Harnesses

Confined Space Harnesses are built for entry through narrow openings (46 cm or smaller) into tanks, vessels, and tunnels. They combine shoulder D-rings for vertical lifting with a dorsal D-ring for fall arrest in a streamlined design that allows quick entry. They differ from general rescue harnesses by being optimized for pre-donning before entry and for reduced bulk.

About this category

Confined-space entry is one of the highest-risk operations in industry, and the specialized harness is the critical interface for emergency rescue. The design: slim folding straps that pass through 46 cm or smaller openings, foldable shoulder D-rings that do not obstruct movement, a standard dorsal D-ring for fall arrest, and quick-release buckles for donning and doffing. The design is optimized for pre-entry donning because fitting a harness inside a confined space is difficult or impossible. Applications: refinery tank entries, sewer-pipe maintenance, underground tank inspection, industrial storage tank entries, and confined-space rescue operations. The difference from general rescue harnesses: confined-space harnesses are more streamlined and optimized for narrow entries, while general rescue harnesses are larger and optimized for comfort during rescue. Specifications follow EN 361 and ANSI Z359.11 for fall-arrest harnesses, with CSA Z259.10 Class A/E approval where shown on the model label, ANSI Z359.4 for retrieval systems, and EN 1497 for rescue harnesses. A documented confined-space entry program and rescue plan are required before every entry. Pre-use inspection and replacement after any fall event are mandatory.
