Industrial SRLs are fixed units mounted at an overhead anchor providing a working range from 6 m up to 30+ m. They differ from personal SRLs by their larger size, higher capacity, and longer range. They suit work where the worker needs free movement over long distances from a single anchor in refineries, stations, and factories.

Industrial SRLs expand the SRL concept from protecting an individual at a defined spot to protecting a worker across a wider work zone. The design: a fixed 4-12 kg unit mounted overhead (on a traverse, suspended cable, or fixed ceiling point) with 6-30 m of steel cable or webbing. Line pays out and retracts without resistance as the worker moves and locks on fall. Larger models may include an energy-absorber status indicator showing whether the unit has been subjected to a fall event. Steel-cable designs are stronger but heavier; webbing designs are lighter but require more careful visual inspection. Applications: oil and gas refineries, substations, overhead-bridge maintenance in plants, high production lines, and large warehouses with tall ceilings. A substantive difference from personal SRLs: industrial SRLs are fixed and long-range serving many jobs, one connected worker at a time, while personal SRLs are portable and limited to one worker's movement. Specifications follow ANSI Z359.14 (Class 1 or Class 2 by model) and EN 360. Annual certified inspection is mandatory.
