SRL with Rescue Winch

SRLs with Rescue Winch combine fall arrest and casualty retrieval in one unit. After a worker fall, the system is switched to lifting mode via a manual or powered handle, so the worker is winched up to the entry surface without waiting for additional rescue equipment. Essential for confined-space entries and work in hard-to-reach areas.

About this category

Rescuing a fallen worker is the highest priority in fall protection, since suspension trauma can develop within 10-30 minutes. Rescue-winch SRLs solve this by combining both roles in one unit: a standard SRL function for fall arrest and an engageable internal winch for lifting. After a fall arrest, the rescuer engages the winch mechanism through a manual handle (basic models) or electric motor (premium models), and the unit raises the worker progressively to the entry surface. Primary applications: rescue tripods for confined-space entries, maintenance in tanks and vessels, industrial civil-defense teams, and emergency work in areas the team cannot reach easily. Models differ in lift capacity (typically 141-181 kg), maximum lift distance (6-30 m), and activation type (manual, electric, pneumatic). A substantive difference from standard SRLs: standard SRLs need separate rescue equipment after an incident, while rescue-winch SRLs provide integrated retrieval that shortens response time, while a rescue plan and a trained rescuer are still required. Specifications follow ANSI Z359.4 (rescue), EN 360 (SRL), and EN 1496 (rescue-lifting equipment). Annual certified inspection and emergency-activation training are mandatory.
