Round Slings

Round Slings carry the load on a bundle of internal load-bearing yarns enclosed in a tubular sleeve that protects them from abrasion, in an endless form suited to several hitches. They differ from flat webbing slings in that the load-bearing element is the inner core rather than the woven body, with the sleeve serving only as protection; choose by rated capacity for the intended hitch, circumference and length, and yarn and sleeve material.

About this category

Round slings are lifting slings designed so that the actual load is carried on an internal bundle of load-bearing yarn, while the external tubular sleeve functions as a protective layer shielding the load-bearing core from abrasion and exposure. The design of round slings differs from flat webbing slings: in webbing slings the load is carried on a flat body, whereas in round slings the load is carried on the enclosed internal yarn. Models differ in effective circumference, length, internal yarn material and external sleeve material; a single material should not be assumed across the category. Endless-configuration models are available and are used in multiple hitch arrangements depending on the application. Documented rated capacity varies by model and must be specified according to the hitch configuration and the manufacturer's documentation. The condition and construction of the protective sleeve, core configuration, sling length, rated capacity and documented product identification are relevant product-level selection attributes, and the sleeve does not substitute for the load-bearing yarn's lifting function. Flat webbing slings, chain slings and wire rope slings are excluded from this category. Industrial buyers select round sling models based on required rated capacity, hitch configuration, operating environment requirements and manufacturer documentation.
