Absorbent Granules
Absorbent Granules are granular media sprinkled over a liquid pool to absorb it and then be collected as solid waste. They differ from pads and rolls by reaching narrow corners and irregular surfaces, and by providing rapid absorption when spread as a layer over the spill. Produced from natural, recycled, or synthetic feedstock depending on the environment.

About this category
Absorbent granules deliver a distinctive property: adaptation to varied surface shapes. Granule nature: porous particles with internal surface area that capture liquid inside the particle pores. Types by raw material: clay-based (heat-activated clay suited to oils), diatomaceous earth (siliceous diatom remains with microporous structure and high absorbency), recycled paper/cellulose (light, multi-purpose absorption), and synthetic polymer (specialized for chemicals and high concentration). Uses: uneven workshop floors, narrow corners that flat pads cannot reach, gravel or rough surfaces, roads and yards after fuel incidents, and undercrofts. A substantive difference from pads: granules fill pores and cracks but require sweeping and collection as solid waste after use, while pads give cleaner uniform disposal. Raw material and absorptive property are chosen from product specifications based on the liquid type and later collection and disposal requirements. Granules are kept in sealed containers away from moisture to preserve absorbency, and a source compatible with the facility's environmental disposal requirements is chosen.
